Designing for northern light

When I start a design, I don't look at the walls first. I look at the light. Where the sun rises, where it sits at noon, where the late afternoon warmth lands.

Northern light is soft and even. Perfect for calm spaces: the bedroom, the study. Southern light is warm and lively, so that became the living room and kitchen.

In the end we didn't decide the order of the rooms. The sun did. We just followed.
